Forensic Experience
Member of Division 41, American Psychology-Law Society, Participated as an expert witness
in more than 300 court cases over the past 30 years, including civil trials as both a
plaintiff and defendant expert, and criminal trials as both defense and prosecution
expert. Completed over 100 custody evaluations. Appointed by prosecution, courts &
defense counsel in criminal matters. Has been appointed by courts as well as hired by
private counsel in civil matters, including child abuse, child custody, personal injury,
malingering, competency and other civil matters. Has participated as Trial Counsel and
Defense Counsel in Courts Martial while on active duty and as Commanding Officer in Mast
Proceedings. Experienced as a Psychologist expert in military courts martial.
Child Custody Issues
Performed first comprehensive forensic child custody evaluation in 1968. Has completed
over 100 child custody evaluations during the past 30 years. Evaluations conducted in
response to both court appointment and individual request. Is a Registered Custody
Evaluator (R.C.E.) and a DIPLOMATE in the Academy Register of Custody Evaluators
and
the Professional Academy of Custody Evaluators (P.A.C.E.)
Military & Police Experience
More than 30 cases of psychological evaluation for fitness of duty of military personnel
as well as more than 150 hours of counseling of military personnel regarding their
adjustment to military life. More than 250 hours evaluating and counseling with police
personnel involving professional trauma, e.g., shooting, being shot, chase-wreck, death,
etc., or personal problems related to their profession.
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
Experienced in group critical incident stress debriefing with military and civilian
personnel.
